Housing

Rent, mortgage, and utilities,  critical home repairs, foreclosure, and resources for homelessness & prevention. 

Food Assistance

Food pantries, emergency meals, senior food assistance, EBT (SNAP) benefit applications.

Regional transportation providers including busses & elderly/disabled transportation options.

Free/low-cost clinics, dentists, medicines, help applying for medical insurance, STI services, and medical equipment.

Mental Health Care & Resources

Inclusive crisis resources and hotlines, local providers and provider search tools, resources for BIPOC+, LBGTQ+ and veteran support. 

Pregnancy medical care, secular and religious counseling, insurance help, postpartum care, and free baby items. 

Childcare

Childcare search tools, preschool options, and daycares for children of various ages. Early/Head Start is not available in North Meck. 

Youth Ed. & Career Readiness

Career training and education to prepare young people for the future. Resources serve ages grade-school to 26. 

Organizations who provide specialized career training for a multitude of jobs, and employment-placement resources for immigrants. 

Support for adults and children facing D.V., crisis hotlines, safety planning, and support for those impacted. 

Resources for those afflicted by substance abuse and their loved ones to promote recovery and harm reduction. 

Legal aid resources who can help with  a variety of issues including specific resources for immigrants.

Economic Mobility

Explore nonprofit agencies that provide a multitude of resources for short-term needs while also equipping you for long-term stability. 

Recreation

Find ways to keep up-to-date on the fun activities happening in our community. Resources are specific to children, families, and senior-citizens.

NC 211 is an information and referral service provided by United Way of North Carolina. Click the logo to go to their website. Or, call 2-1-1 or 1-888-892-1162 to receive free and confidential information on health and human services.

Atrium Health provides a Community Resource Hub website which includes some local resources, and a multitude of nationwide programs that serve North Carolina applicants.

The Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services is home to the Community Resource Department and Child, Family, and Adult services. They provide programs to meet basic needs.
